Dr. Derek Hagen,
PT, DPT, TPI, C-PS, CEAS
Derek started his practice in order to help people. He saw the increased visits, time, and money patients were spending in traditional physical therapy clinics mostly dictated by insurance companies.

Derek is a licensed Physical Therapist with over 12 years of experience in orthopedic rehabilitation. He attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Marshall University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Wheeling Jesuit University. He is highly specialized in manual treatment including joint mobilization/manipulation, soft tissue massage and muscle energy techniques.
He is a Level 1 certified professional through the Titleist Performance Institute, a Champion Performance Specialist, and a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist.
Movement optimization and joint by joint kinetics are stressed in his treatment approach. Injury prevention and wellness are a cornerstone of his treatment.
Derek also has unique experience with acute injury management, ergonomic assessments, and as an educator.
Derek is an adjunct faculty member at Nazareth College as a lab instructor for Human Anatomy & Physiology in the Biology Department and as a clinical instructor for an on campus orthopedic clinic in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Derek has more than 6 years of experience working in the home care setting treating various conditions that make it difficult for patients to leave their home in order to get treatment.

Hagen Movement Institute's model strives to:
-
decrease the number of visits required
- improve on the time spent with the clinician
-
decrease the overall cost for physical therapy through quality, 1-on-1 care that has been proven to optimize outcomes.
